FieldEdge vs ServiceTitan: side by side
Category winners are highlighted in green. Pricing verified against vendor sites, September 2026 — vendors adjust plans periodically.
The short version
FieldEdge is the pick for established HVAC, plumbing and electrical shops that run on QuickBooks and maintenance agreements and want a capable platform at roughly half ServiceTitan's reported per-tech rate. ServiceTitan is the pick for larger, growth-focused shops that need call booking with CSR scoring, consumer financing, marketing attribution and reporting deep enough to restructure the business around. The question that decides it: are you buying a better back office, or an operating system for growth?
How we compared them
Neither platform offers a free trial, so we couldn't run a job through either. This comparison uses each vendor's pricing and feature pages as they stood in October 2026 and third-party price reports, which we label as estimates. For the full cost picture of each, see our FieldEdge pricing and ServiceTitan pricing guides.
Pricing
Both are quote-only and contract-based, so the numbers below are reported ranges, not list prices.
FieldEdge sells three plans (Select, Premier and Elite) split mainly by mobile app licenses: 2, 4 or 6. Third-party breakdowns report around $100 per office user and $125 per technician per month, plus a one-time setup fee from a few hundred dollars to about $2,000. You can upgrade anytime, but downgrades only take effect at the end of the contract.
ServiceTitan prices per technician on an annual contract. Current third-party sources and customer reports land it between $245 and $400 per technician per month, with a separate onboarding and implementation fee that often runs into the thousands.
What that looks like for a shop with 6 techs and 2 office users:
- FieldEdge (reported rates): about $950/mo, roughly $11,400 a year, plus setup
- ServiceTitan (reported range): about $1,470 to $2,400/mo, roughly $17,600 to $28,800 a year, plus onboarding
Both are negotiable. Get every number in writing: the monthly rate, setup or onboarding, included modules and the renewal price.
QuickBooks and accounting: where FieldEdge wins
FieldEdge was built around QuickBooks. Real-time, two-way sync with QuickBooks Online and Desktop comes on every plan, so invoices, payments, customers and items flow without double entry. For a shop whose bookkeeper lives in QuickBooks Desktop, that's often the deciding feature.
ServiceTitan integrates with QuickBooks Online and Desktop too, and with a longer list of systems: NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Viewpoint Vista and Spectrum, Foundation, Xero and Acumatica. That breadth matters if you expect to outgrow QuickBooks; if you don't, FieldEdge's QuickBooks focus is the simpler fit.
Call booking, financing and reporting: where ServiceTitan wins
ServiceTitan's depth shows up in the front office and the numbers. Call booking with recorded calls and CSR scoring helps a team of dispatchers convert more calls. Consumer financing is built into the sales flow, which lifts average tickets on replacements. Reporting goes deep enough that many owners run the business from it, with marketing attribution down to which ad produced which sold job.
FieldEdge covers the essentials here, with outbound call recording and unlimited saved reports on Elite and performance and commission tracking from Premier, but it isn't built to be a call center and marketing analytics platform.
Service agreements and price presentation
Both handle the maintenance agreement business well. FieldEdge includes service agreements on every plan, with advanced agreement tools on Premier and Elite, and in-field price presentation with good, better and best options from Premier. ServiceTitan has membership management and good, better and best proposals built in. If agreements are your main concern, either will do the job; the price and the QuickBooks question will decide it.
Implementation and support
FieldEdge includes an onboarding specialist on every plan; support is chat on Select, email and phone on Premier, and a dedicated customer success rep on Elite. ServiceTitan's implementation is a larger project, with data migration, configuration and training that typically take weeks, and a dedicated implementation team to run it. Budget the time as well as the fee.
What about roofers?
Neither is roofing-first. Both are built for HVAC, plumbing and electrical service and maintenance. Roofing companies usually get more from a roofing CRM with measurements, supplier ordering and production boards; see our best roofing software guide.
The verdict
Choose FieldEdge if QuickBooks and maintenance agreements run your business and you want trade depth at a reported rate far below ServiceTitan's. Choose ServiceTitan if you're an established shop of around 10 or more techs investing in growth, with CSRs, financing and marketing spend that justify the price and the rollout. If both feel like too much, our Housecall Pro vs FieldEdge comparison and ServiceTitan alternatives cover the lighter options.
Choose FieldEdge if…
You run a 3 to 15 tech HVAC, plumbing or electrical shop, QuickBooks (especially Desktop) is the center of your office, and maintenance agreements drive your revenue. You want depth without ServiceTitan's price or implementation.
Choose ServiceTitan if…
You run an established, growth-focused shop around 10+ techs with CSRs on the phones, real marketing spend to attribute and membership programs to scale, and you're ready for an annual contract and a multi-week rollout.
